I deleted Windows off my old laptop and I’m still deciding what I should install on there. I installed Linux Minton my main laptop alongside Windows. The MP2-Server is run as a Windows Service. A possible solution would be to make the DirectX part interchangeable with an equivalent OpenGL part. Even as an arch (btw) user I still check this sub-reddit because it's usually more on the ball than the arch one. MediaPortal is heavily based on it and there is no DirectX for Linux.
